National Credit Card Spending Limit Increase on Tap for Congressional Hogs
For the second time this year Treasury Secretary, Tim Geithner is asking Congress to increase the nation’s statutory debt limit so that the federal government can continue borrowing above the 12 trillion dollar limit approved less than six months ago. Simply put, Congressional hogs have the power to increase the maximum limit on the national credit card anytime they want. With the National Debt at 11.7 trillion dollars as of August 7th and an estimated 200 billion dollars per month being charged on the national credit card, it is likely that the 12 trillion dollar limit will be exceeded by October this year. For some perspective on the suicidal Congressional squandering of America’s financial future consider the following facts: In January of 2000 the national credit card spending limit was 5.9 trillion dollars; in January of 2005 it was 8.1 trillion dollars; in January of 2009 it was 11.3 trillion dollars; and, as of August 2009 was 11.7 trillion dollars. Wake up America! The United States Congress is economically enslaving you, your kids, grandkids and generations yet to be born. Every member of Congress who was on duty when the Great Financial Meltdown of 2008 occurred needs to be voted out of office in the 2010 mid-term election. Main Street American’s inalienable rights to life, liberty and property are being usurped by an out of control and institutionally corrupt Legislative Branch of federal government.
