Congressional Hypocrites Berate AIG (Again!)
The hypocritical Bernie Madoff Congress plans to be in full attack mode as they grill AIG CEO Edward Liddy over $165 million in retention bonuses paid to AIG execs. This is the same Congress that just rammed through eight billion taxpayer dollars for 9,000 earmarks in a $410 billion dollar omnibus spending bill. This is the same Congress that has approved over two trillion dollars of taxpayer bailout funding and mortgaged the financial future of our kids and grandkids. This is the same Congress that approved the now $170 billion dollars (and counting) of AIG bailout funds with little or no strings attached. Congressional arrogance, condescension and stupidity know no bounds. How dare they try to scapegoat a company the taxpayers now own 80 percent of in an attempt to deflect attention away from their own wholesale culpability in the Great Financial Meltdown of 2008. When does it become crystal clear to American Main Street voters that Congress is institutionally and culturally corrupt and bankrupt for new ideas? There should not be a single Congressional incumbent left in office after the mid-term election in 2010. 554 days and counting.
