SEC Chief sets example for Congress
Securities and Exchange Commission Chief Linda Thomsen is set to resign after getting blasted by Capitol Hill lawmakers for not uncovering the Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme that bilked investors out of more than $50 billion. Congress needs to look in the mirror when they hold Ms. Thomsen accountable for her short comings. Every incumbent Congressman or woman who was in office during the 2008 Financial Meltdown needs to follow Thomsen’s lead and resign. If they don’t resign voters should hold them accountable for not only the economic crisis which they helped create and did nothing to stop but also for the financial squandering of America’s financial future to the tune of nearly two trillion dollars! Abraham Lincoln had it right when he said, “We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert it.”
